New socks?

edit

I have noticed some suspicious "new" accounts that are likely Tirgil34.

  • 1: With a Turkic username, "İlber". The most suspicious one. See his edits on Blond-He deleted images of Indo-Europeans (Tocharians and the Pamiri girl) and left only one image, the Uyhur girl's. Also, informations regarding ancient inhabitants of Kazakhstan and the section regarding Tocharians that explain the source of blondness in Xinjiang(particularly among Uyhurs) was deleted by the same possible sock. Interestingly, the same images were also deleted by Tirgil and Maikoser in the past. Besides, he behave as if he is a Basque now. A Basque with a Turkic username! See the "Habitual behavior" section on LTA and WP:ACTING.

p.s.: His effort to signify that original Indo-Europeans were dark haired-eyed is also remarkable.

  • 2: Suspicious edits on Poltavka culture, Q-M242, Karasuk culture... The account was left after I mentioned him on LTA-talk page.
  • 3: Suspicious edits on Q-M242. Tries to signfy that various PIE cultures had haplogroup Q, which is almost absent in Indo-Europeans but high among Turkic-speaking people. Also, he tries to prove the affinity between Turkic peoples and Nordics. Tirgil also claims the same thing on his YouTube account.
  • 4: Suspicious edits on Q regarding Amerindians. Tirgil also claims the same affinity (See his YouTube account and old edits on WP).

I think he decided to edit mostly "related" articles instead of "targeted" articles, since he afraids of being noticed again. However, obviously the same fields of interest and purpose, i believe. Moreover, it seems that he has changed his tactics in order not to be blocked or falled WP:DUCK. The new tactic is to "implying" the same POV instead of remarking it explicitly. I think, WP need a new policy regarding LTA cases, since the long-term abusers are always professionals and thus, it is hard to detect them by the current WP:DUCK policy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.221.225.43 (talk) 19:30, 13 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Problems regarding the LTA cases

edit

I think there are some chronic problems regarding the current SPI policies that cause never-ending sockings:

  • Current policy is helpful to detect amateurish sock puppetry. However, it does not always work for professional sockmasters/long-term abusers. Checkusers should be less conservative regarding LTA cases, since this "conservatism" is abusing by professionals/long-term abusers, as you all see.
  • Proxy-WPN using by sockmasters. Detected proxies should be hard-blocked and checkusers should be more vigilant regarding it while evaluating a LTA case. Please note that, long-term abusers are more inclined to use WPN-proxy than the amateurs.
Can't we develop a new policy that prescribes the checkusers to become less conservative regarding LTA cases? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.221.233.192 (talk) 10:48, 17 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

@PhilKnight:,@JamesBWatson:, @Florian Blaschke:,@Krakkos:,@Wario-Man:,@Rajmaan:

Hi. Anonymous users (IPs) can open investigations on WP:SPI, just like some of Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Tirgil34/Archive cases reported by IPs. You can submit your evidence (above text) via "How to open an investigation". --Wario-Man (talk) 12:29, 17 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Wario-Man: I know, i have decided to open a SPI case soon after gathering more evidence. However, i am not sure whether checkusers endorse it because of the problems that i mentioned above. That is the reason why i suggest a new policy regarding SPI cases of long-term abusers. Should i open a Rfc regarding it? Do you have any suggestions? 46.221.229.121 (talk) 14:52, 17 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
I recommend to submit a simple but detailed report. Diffs of new socks + older/blocked socks (if it's possible), explain why you think they're new socks of this long-term abuser, compare their behaviors by providing strong evidences. I don't think WP changes its policies and rules. Unfortunately, this LTA case is complicated and only involved editors are aware of Tirgil34's quest. --Wario-Man (talk) 04:20, 18 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
I think his current behavior is similar to 25 June 2014 case. He targeted PIE and IE-related articles again (e.g. Andronovo culture, Kurgan hypothesis, Indo-European migrations and etc). --Wario-Man (talk) 10:06, 18 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Ip socks from Germany

edit
  • Those dubious ips mostly edit on Turkic migrations, Paleolitihic Continuity Theory, Central Asia, etc. (exclusively the same articles targeted by Tirgil34)
  • Some knowledge on linguistic (like Tirgil34)
  • Totally the same geolocation with Tirgil34
  • Representing Avars, Xionites (and Mlechha), Hepthalite, Xiongnu, Bulgars and certain haplogroups (e.g. haplogroup N) as Turkic (like Tirgil34)
  • Rejecting IE origins of certain groups (e.g. Illyrians)

...

Differing from previous Tirgil34 socks, the ips seem accepted the IE origins of Sakas, Scythians. However, i think this is just a sock trick not to be noticed. (Previous socks of Tirgil34 like Kleropides and various ip socks used the similar sock trick before.) Because at the same time, he also pushing the view that Avars, Hephtalites, Xionites, Mlechha, Bulgars, Xiongnu, certain haplogroups like N are Turkic. I think those ip socks should be mentioned on this page or on the SPI. 89.203.251.139 (talk) 11:34, 10 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Ancientsteppe

edit

Ancientsteppe (talk · contribs) was blocked on commons as the sock of Tirgil34. For this reason, i added it to long-term abuse page. 109.201.142.121 (talk) 22:56, 24 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

WP:OTHERSITES

edit

Both 2 fake accounts with fictitious personalities are likely Tirgil34:

  • They seem to know Russian and German to a certain extent, similar to Tirgil34. ”Slavic” account Slava Gaidai and “German” account Georg Kuhn oddly obsessed with Persians and other Iranians and reject their IE origins, just like Tirgil34. Their hostile jargons  and videos that were uploaded by them are also very similar. Tirgil34 had also a large number of “role accounts” on Wikipedia. Similar to Tirgil34, the accounts accuse their opponents as being “Persians with fake accounts to cheat others”. That is to say, their habitual behaviours are very similar. Similar to Tirgil34, ”Slavic” account Slava Giada and "German" account Georg Kuhn uploaded videos claiming that the Scythians were Turkic[8][9]. Also, the accounts never attacked Turks while they oddly obsessed with “dark-skinned Middle Easterners”. In brief, the 2 accounts are related and probably the same person (Tirgil34). Based on all these similarities, they can be mentioned under the "Other notes" section. 109.201.142.121 (talk) 13:23, 29 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

This guy tries new methods to disrupt WP, an example:

YouTube

edit

It seems this YouTube account belongs to him too. Use "Karachay-Balkar Culture" site:youtube.com to find his comments. He has dozens of YT accounts just like his WP ones. --Wario-Man (talk) 03:14, 7 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Tirgil34 and racial supremacy

edit

It seems that Tirgil has racial supremacy, which is the boosting of one's culture while denouncing the others. That means that TIRGIL34 is a racist. These people are NOT welcome on Wikipedia!FIGHTERSOVIET wpedia (talk) 13:20, 13 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Another YouTube evidence

edit

@Krakkos: I think you should add this too:

  • An uploaded image by one of the socks was just used in one of his videos.[11] Plus read the description of his most recent uploaded videos. He launched a direct attack on Wikipedia and its editors. He seems try to convince his subscribers to target WP articles. Another obvious thing is how he uses dozens of socks and alternative accounts in comment section. You better add more details about his YT activity based on his 3 recent uploaded videos. --Wario-Man (talk) 21:52, 21 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
It seems like Tirgil has already put those recent videos on private. He is clearly paying close attention to this page. Krakkos (talk) 06:59, 22 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
You're right. Not only made those 3 videos private but also some of his older stuff too. Take at look [12] & [13]. --Wario-Man (talk) 10:38, 22 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

More socks in Japanese and Korean Wikipedia

edit

Tirgil34 is now also active on the Japanese and Korean Wikipedia. Edits like “Turanid Europid” Turks, Turkic Andronovo, and other typical Tirgil34 nonsense. This two accounts are very active: 1.(https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/特別:投稿記録/トルコの北海道) in the Japanese Wikipedia and 2. (https://ko.wikipedia.org/wiki/특수:기여/Nigaindia) in the Korean Wikipedia, additional also many proxy IPs and sleeping accounts.

The good thing is that Japanese editors have mostly reverted him, the bad thing is that the Korean Wikipedia lacks any administrative defense and Tirgil34 is very active.

Another likely sock is (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Irantointerna) (suggested by a Japanese editor see:https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/利用者%E2%80%90会話:トルコの北海道) also active in korean (https://ko.wikipedia.org/wiki/특수:기여/Irantointerna).212.95.8.252 (talk) 12:28, 26 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
